Questions & Answers

What are your services like?
We strive to please the LORD. Our desire is that when we leave the building, we can ask the LORD if “HE” was pleased with our service.  That means, that we are open in allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us and even though we have our “agenda”, we want to be sensitive enough to allow the Holy Spirit to redirect the service in any way that would be decently and in order.  (1Co 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.)

What is your position on Tithing?
We believe that Malachi expressly teaches to bring the tithes into the storehouse that the work of God can continue.  We encourage all of our members to tithe 10% as the word of God teaches.  One thing we do different than others, is we do not pass a collection plate but members are encouraged to bring their tithes and offerings to God and we have offering boxes in the rear of the church that people are encouraged to contribute as an act of worship and obedience to God.

What should I wear?
The dress at Agape is both casual and formal.  People are welcome to come as they are and we have people in blue jeans and others feel more comfortable with a coat and tie.  The Pastors rarely wear ties, and usually wear slack pants with a nice shirt.  We believe that we should again follow the word of God in this matter and that both men and women should obey first Timothy 2 in dressing in modest apparel.  That simply means nothing provocative that would draw attention away from what we are there to do…worship the Lord.

What kind of Worship do you have?
Contemporary and spirit led.  We have a full band with guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, flute, bongos, and singers.  We sing the newer fresh anointed music from artists such as Chris Tomlin, Rita Springer, Hillsong, and others.  We rarely do hymns, but are not opposed to them.  We believe in allowing the Spirit of God to lead and guide us in the worship experience.  It’s not about singing songs, it’s about touching the heart of God in our songs.  True worship is from the heart and that’s what we hope to achieve in every worship service.

What are the service times?
Sunday morning we meet in the sanctuary as the Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 am and will usually end around Noon.  The Wednesday night Youth service begins at 7:00 pm and is dismissed at 8:00 pm to allow for the Youth to get home at a decent hour.

Where will my kids go?
Sunday morning, we allow our children to stay in the sanctuary for worship with the adults, and then after worship the children are dismissed to their respective classrooms.  Nursery care is available during worship times.
