Our Leadership Team

Pastor Stephen Grohn and Susan

Senior Pastor

Pastor Steve and his wife Susan joined Agape in 1991. After many years of service in many different areas, Pastor Steve joined the pastoral staff in 1999. Pastor Steve’s faithful and diligent studying of the Word has provided Agape with a deep knowledge of the Word of God. Pastor Steve has extensive background in the business industry and has a degree from Lamar in Business Management. Susan and Steve have been married for 36 years and have three daughters and four grandchildren. Susan is part owner of Smarts Truck and Trailer – a firm that sells Volvo trucks – and has worked there in the family business for 35 years. Our desire is to see the church move closer to God and reach out to each other. Fellowship is an important part of church life and the closer we are to each other, the more we can experience the presence of God in our church.

Steve and Lori Nicholson

Steve & Lori have been long-standing members of Agape and say that their church is their home away from home. Steve is an Electrician and Lori is an X-Ray Technician, and they have two grown children, Danielle and Jordan. Steve currently serves as Trustee at Agape. He and Lori are a tremendous strength to the body of Christ.

Charlie and Linda Huebel

Leadership Team Members

Charlie and Linda Huebel have been with Agape going on 22 years and are vital members of the Agape family. They have been married for over 30 years and enjoy all kinds of animals and gardening. They currently lead our intercessory prayer ministry and have a passion for God to pour out his Spirit on Agape and our community. One of the keys for a move of God is for the church family to come together united in prayer. Charlie and Linda are currently retired and continue to do many areas of ministry in the church and around the community.

Irby and Andrea Trahan

Leadership Team Members

The Trahan’s have been at Agape a little over 3 years and are very active in many areas vital to church ministry. They have been married for 23 years and have three amazing children. Irby currently is head over our children’s ministry and helps in many areas of the church. Irby helps with maintenance and oversight of the church. Irby and Andrea also oversee our youth ministry. Irby works at Legacy Christian Academy and Andrea is a front-line supervisor for quality catalyst at the Exxon-Mobil refinery. They have a growing excitement to partner with the Lord and the Agape family to bring Heaven to earth. They both move in the prophetic, and God gave Andrea a verse from Psalm 105:37 which says that he brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. They have a love for the Lord and for the body of Christ to advance in the kingdom of God. By the way, Irby is Irby Trahan II – there are 3 of them.

Paul and Rachel Stein

Worship Team Leaders

Paul and Rachel are faithful long-time members of Agape. They lead our worship team with Paul on guitar and Rachel leading vocals. They have an anointing to follow after the Spirit of The Lord as they lead us to the presence of The Lord. They have a heart to see the Kingdom of God expand and reach others through music and by their testimony.

Lane and Sarah Smith

Leadership Team Members

Lane and Sarah have been married for 5 years, and Sarah is the middle daughter of Pastor Steve. They both do a lot of things at Agape as Lane is currently over our sound and plays the drums as well. Sarah oversees our Precious Hearts class which are young children ages 3, 4, 5, and kindergarten. They both have a love for the Lord and passion to see His kingdom advanced. Lane works at Lamar University in the IT department, and Sarah is a registered nurse and nursing instructor but currently a stay-at-home-mom taking care of their one child. They both love photography and enjoy capturing special moments in people’s lives. One of Sarah’s passions is taking care of people and showing them God’s love. Sarah is a testimony of the miracle power of God as she was involved in a car accident in September 2012 and sustained a severe brain injury. The doctors have classified her recovery as nothing but “miraculous,” and we give all the glory to JESUS as he is our healer. No matter how big your mountain may be, God is so much bigger than what you are facing.
